Michael Marfione won First Place in an exhibit titled Picturing Home at the Emory Visual Arts Gallery of Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

From the show prospectus: 'What is home, and where is it? What does it mean to look for home, to find home, to lose home, to be at home? How is “home” being impacted by the current economic crisis in America? This juried exhibition presents photographic works that investigate “home” in its familiarity and unfamiliarity, its pleasures and discomforts, its communal and personal aspects. The jurors are Julian Cox, Curator of Photography at the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, GA, and Jason Francisco, acclaimed photographer and chair of Emory’s Visual Arts Department.'

Sinae Lee (MFA '06) has a solo show in an exhibition cycle titled Exposure at the Ceres Gallery in New York opening Saturday, December 26. Exposure is a unique, rotating exhibition of multiple, one-week, one-person shows bringing the personal vision of a diverse group of artists to Chelsea audiences.

Locks Gallery is pleased to present a show of prints and multiples, in two parts. Part one, Edition/Addition, will be on view December 4, 2009 through January 16, 2010. There will be an opening reception on Friday, December 4th, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

Part two, Edition/Addition/Object will be on view January 26–February 20, 2010. There will be a reception in conjunction with the city-wide print exposition, Philigrafika 2010, on February 5th, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

The transformative advances in printing techniques and the postwar explosion in screenprinting have opened up unlimited possibilities for contemporary artists. In exploring the realm of editions as objects, often referred to as multiples--artists have extended their practice and subject matter into materials as varied as aluminum, lead, bronze and glass.

Edition/Addition will feature the print work of contemporary artists Edna Andrade, Polly Apfelbaum, Jennifer Bartlett, Howard Hodgkin, Jane Irish, Elizabeth Murray, Eileen Neff, Mimmo Palladino, Edward Paschke, Frank Stella, Ena Swansea, Terry Winters.

Edition/Addition/Object presents multiples by artists Richard Artschwager, Lynda Benglis, Christine Borland, Thomas Chimes, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, George Segal, Franz West, Rob Wynne.
