WoohYun Shim is a 2010 BFA graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is currently working on her MFA at the University of Pennsylvania. This is her first solo exhibition. WooYun's work contemplates philosophies of circulation and cyclical systems based on the idea of reincarnation. She seeks to visually balance Eastern Buddhist thought and Western Abstract Expressionism through her paintings.
