Kelsey
Halliday Johnson (MFA '12) will present her paper "Annals of the
Present World: Contemporary Art as a Local and Global Document" at the
Cumulus Denver Conference: From Understanding to Design and Back Again.
Cumulus is the International Association of Universities and Colleges of
Art and Design founded by The University of Art and Design in Helsinki
and the Royal College of Art in London in 1990. Their biannual
conference is being held in Denver from 9/29-10/2 with a focus on
sustainability in art and design. Johnson's paper examines different
approaches of contemporary artist-activists and their methodologies as
they deal with topics of sustainability and globalization from both a
local and global perspective.
