Mark Dilks and Alex Nguyen (both MFA '13) present their collaborative work Future Sentimentality in the exhibition Dirge at Fjord, Philadelphia.
The artists take on the infeasible task of integrating and distinguishing
bodies within the various modes of representation - drawing attention
to the complexity of distance and intimacy in our current perception of
media structures. The installation functions as a visual and spatial
aggregate of antihesis, wherein each work creates a spectacle of stasis,
malaise, revery, and remembrance.
