Demetrius Oliver (MFA '04) Exhibits at Hamilton College’s Wellin Museum, Clinton, NY

Demetrius Oliver (MFA '04) has been selected to exhibit in the show Affinity Atlas at Hamilton College’s Wellin Museum, Clinton, NY.  Oliver's contemporary orrery, an abstract, three- dimensional model of the solar system made from hanging umbrella spokes and studio scraps is juxtaposed by Issac Hollister Hall's nineteenth-century scientific prints of solar flares.

Curated by Ian Berry, Associate Director and Malloy Curator at the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College, Affinity Atlas draws inspiration from sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Wunderkammers—or cabinets of curiosities—and the pioneering work of art historian Aby Warburg.

Affinity Atlas is on view from 10.06.12 -- 04.07.13.
