Sarah Anderson (MFA '12) presents in the SENSEI Exchange Series, NYC

Sarah Anderson’s first project with Sensei includes a two-channel video, sculpture, and encaustic paintings. Anderson’s work frequently deals with the intimate re-scaled to envision a public life punctuated by the erotic.

Characters in literature often embody disparate aspects of a single consciousness. Romancing: The Head and the Whale attempts to do something similar in video, painting, and sculpture. Together, the three sets of works propose multiple viewpoints that form a cohesive perspective on the relationship between destruction, language, and desire.
